The ePrice Calculator lets employees choose a vehicle, color, interior and other package options, factor in available incentives and find the Employee Advantage price before going into a dealership. The calculator also can approximate monthly payments. The Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brand Web sites also have prices, vehicle configurators, dealer inventory search, driving directions to the closest dealerships and details on incentives. Get a control number and read the Employee Advantage rules. While deciding what vehicle to purchase, employees, retirees and others who are eligible can get a control number at the Employee Advantage Web site, www.dc-employeeadvantage.com (click the road button at right to go there now), or by calling 800.756.AUTO (2886). On the Web site, make sure to print out the Rules and Provisions.
This lists the customer obligations and dealer obligations. It also explains how the program works, step by step.
“Most of the issues people have with dealers and the purchase can be solved by understanding the rules,” John McHugh, Communication and Incentives Marketing Manager – Great Lakes Business Center, said. “The rules help the customer ask the right questions and know what the dealers are supposed to do for them.” 3. Employees can call the dealership, call the incentive hotline at 800.227.0757, or use their home ZIP code for the online configurators at the brand Web sites. Choose a dealership that participates in the program. Search a dealer inventory, use the Five Star-certified dealer program as a guide, call a dealer and ask questions or get a reference and recommendation from co-workers, friends and family. “Car dealerships are like any other business,” McHugh said. “You can get a good feel just by talking to them. Ask them questions about inventory or pricing to start.” Make sure they participate in the Employee Advantage Program because it is not mandatory for the dealer.

If a dealer participates in the program, insist on looking at the dealer invoice to see the Employee Price (EP). Looking at the invoice will ensure that you are getting the right price for the vehicle (see sample at left).
The Employee Advantage rules clearly state, “the dealer must show the retail customer a copy of the factory invoice.” The invoice lists three prices: the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP), the Employee Price (EP) and the Preferred Price (PP). The MSRP is what a customer without a control number could expect to pay. The EP is the employee discounted price, without the incentives factored in. The PP is the price for friends, suppliers and other Affiliate Rewards members, without factoring in the incentives. Make sure the dealership is charging the EP price, and then drive away in one of America’s hottest new products.
