SAKIC / Psychoneuroimmunology (or science about mind-body interactions) examines bi directional communication among the nervous, endocrine and immune systems. By critically reviewing contemporary topics, the students are expected to learn about the role of the Aregulatory metasystem in the maintenance of homeostasis. The etiology of common neuroimmunologic diseases and the immune theory of some classical mental disorders will be also the topics of discussion. The learning method involves both didactic and problem-based approaches, accompanied by computerized and interactive video animations. PREREQUISITE: Basic Immunology, Neurobiology or Psychology, and Permission of the Course Coordinator. CROSS-LISTED: NEUROSCIENCE 711. METHOD OF PRESENTATION: The course is a combination of didactic and self-directed, problem-based learning.

The The Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.)—Area of Interest—Clinical Health Psychology program deals with the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the individual. Eisner Institute for Professional Studies (EIPS) offers a variety of online psychology programs. EIPS is approved by the California Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education We offer graduate degrees in psychology. EIPS offers health psychology courses online that lead to a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree. There are several specialized health psychology courses online including: Psychoneuroimmunology, psychopharmacology, life and personal coaching, meditation, hypnosis and visualization, and mind, body and consciousness.
