Export results in blank wav files When I export wav files and try to open them in Adobe Audition, there's no sound data. Its the proper length, proper files size in megs, but just a blank editor screen. I've tried exporting the entire mix as well as the individual tracks and in all formats including wma and mp3 with no luck. The tracks are recorded in 24/96 and I'm unable to monitor them due to my M-Audio interface only being 16/48, but when trying to export I changed the bit and sample rates. Also, I can open up the consolidated files and play and edit them in Audition, but it would take too much time to place them all in there proper places.

I'm remixing some songs and need the time stamp and all that stuff. Oh yeah, since I can't playback the audio at 24/96 I'm unable to do the remixes within Sonar. The bundle files were given to me by the artist who records in Sonar at the higher sample and bit rates. I've tried to find a way to convert the sample rates with the project open, but with no luck. Anywho, I really just want to export individual files. It'll make my life much more stressless.

Just to rule out possible solutions, I can play other 24/96 files through my interface in Audition. It automates play back rate. Another thing to check for that bites me all the time is make sure that the bus you have selected in the export dialog matches the bus you have your tracks routed to. (I'm not in front of Sonar right this second, but I'll try to describe it). For example, if I select a clip that is in a track that has chan 1&2 on my soundcard set as the output, then I select 'Export' and it defaults to Main as the output bus it is exporting from, I will get a blank wav that is the proper length because there is no audio on the Main bus. What they said - but one question: does the bundle you're working with contain any softsynths that you don't have on your system? And have you re-assigned the audio interface outputs (might want to check each audio track) to match your card and not the native card with which the bundle was created?

Then again, if those were issues, then you wouldn't be able to playback in S4, let alone bounce, eh? Ctrl-A will work beautifully if you're capturing all tracks, & if not, just select the tracks you want to bounce (e.g. Midi piano track and the corresponding audio track with the Steinberg The Grand softsynth).
